Do not just target a keyword, even if your budget is very small or you think a keyword is all that you do or sell. Why not? For some reasons, the search volume is huge, but the competition for these terms is strong and it is very difficult to place your Website in the top positions.
You ought not to target many keywords. The more keywords you target, the less resources you can allocate for each keyword, the more difficult it will be. So how many keywords are you supposed to target? The exact number depends on your budget and your results. This is because a keyword sentence in another order with the same words or more or less “stop words” is considered one keyword (a, the, for, etc.). For example, if you have a “mortgage advice” and the sentence is exactly the same, your website is probably listed naturally as “mortgage advice,” “mortgage advice,” “mortgage advice” etc.
By using the same example, you naturally classify many keywords used in this content through the creation of a high-quality contents page for the “mortgage advice” (strings of 4 or more words). So if you write ‘where the best reliable mortgage advisory is to be found,’ of course your site is also listed on Google for the keyword phrase.
Therefore, the ranking and traffic attraction are very large with five keywords. You will find that you are looking for keywords that are not specifically targeted but clearly have good traffic on your website. More specific searches tend to become sales as the people who search for them understand more clearly what they want.
You can then turn some attention and resources to new keywords if you get good results for your first keyword selection. If you follow this approach, you won’t have to wait too long to see results and get further information (by Google Analytics or the Google Search Console) before making any decisions about any further keywords.
